Hot Water Cylinder Installation
Expert installation of unvented and vented hot water cylinders. Heat pump-ready systems and replacement cylinders across North Wales.
More Than Just a Tank
More Than Just a Tank
Hot water cylinders aren’t one-size-fits-all. The right choice depends on your household size, number of bathrooms, existing system, and future plans. Get it wrong and you’ll either run out of hot water or waste energy heating more than you need.
We take time to understand your requirements and specify the correct cylinder. If you’re planning a heat pump, we’ll ensure your cylinder is compatible. All unvented work is carried out by our G3-qualified engineers, with proper certification and building control notification.

Do I need an unvented cylinder?
Unvented cylinders are ideal if you want mains-pressure hot water for powerful showers and quick-filling baths, especially with multiple bathrooms. However, they require adequate mains pressure and a G3-qualified installer. We’ll assess your property and advise whether unvented is right for you.
What size cylinder do I need?
Cylinder size depends on the number of bathrooms, household size, and whether you have a bath or just showers. As a rough guide: 150-180 litres suits most 3-bed homes with one bathroom, while 200-250 litres is better for larger homes or multiple bathrooms. We’ll calculate the right size for your needs.
Why do heat pumps need special cylinders?
Heat pumps deliver heat at lower temperatures than boilers, so they need cylinders with larger internal coils to transfer heat efficiently. Standard cylinders don’t have enough coil surface area, resulting in poor performance. Heat pump cylinders are designed specifically for this and are essential for efficient operation.
Can I add a cylinder to a combi boiler system?
It depends on the scope. Replacing a few radiators typically takes a day. A full system upgrade with new radiators, pipework modifications, and controls might take 2-4 days. We’ll give you a clear timeline in your quote.
